This article is regarding the importance of education in the indigenous tribe. There are few points which specifically mentions the problems in the family as well as in the society.

Education is an individual and social journey to develop a society as well as the individual. Where there is education there is hope for the future. As the time moves forward rapidly the tribal should get them educated to adjust with the world. As we know education is the key to success. In the 18th century Napoleon Bonaparte had said, “ Give me an educated mother, I shall promise you the birth of a civilized, educated nation.” It is the high time to think all the respective family members of the tribal society about education. Only through education a neglected, avoided society or a family can be build or shown in front of the whole world.

There are many more incidents which are happening daily basis in tribal society for which instead of moving forward we are moving backward. The very first reason is lack of education. Below some points are given which are unacceptable and can be overcome through the education.

Child marriage: As far as my knowledge is concern, this is one of the biggest and the main problem among all the tribal society. Most of the cases in the rural villages boys and girls are getting marry without understanding about marriage. Since parents are not educated they force their child to get marry as early as possible which is very sad as well as dangerous for the future generation. At the end the result is no birth control, high poverty, serious sicknesses, economical problem, psychological depression, no peace in the family and so on. That’s why Napoleon Bonaparte correctly said regarding the education to develop a society.

Superstation: According to my understanding, this is also one of the major problem in the tribal society. Still today almost all the tribal believe in superstations which is really baseless. As the person more believes and practices this “Superstations”, he or she becomes more frighten on some specific object or dark etc.  Most of the time due to superstations many families are threaten, victimized or even killed by the villagers . It is high time to overcome and get rid of this “Superstations” from our intellect. This is possible to overcome only if the education is spread among the tribal’s.

Lack of Awareness: It is true that many tribal families are not aware concerning education. We cannot blame them for this reason but we should blame the government of each country for not taking initiative. As the basic right of citizen, this is first priority for government and us to take the education to them and make them aware about the importance of education. As Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. So to change the society each members of tribe must know the value of education.

Old mind set: I have observed the old mind set among the tribe as a member of a specific tribe. Many other times new generations logical ideas are not accepted by the society. Sometime tribes member things education is not for us. We are intended  to work under others. There is a old saying in Santali which says “ We will eat, dance, enjoy and die”. There is nothing called future hope. The philosophy is almost kind of “Charvaks ( Sanskrit: Worldly ones). It is high time to transform the old mind set. The leaders has to think science of the time, encourage the new ideas for the betterment of the society.

Alcoholism: Drinking is the part and parcel of every tribe. Tribes need to drink in every celebrations. For them “No drinks No celebration”. I feel, it’s all right to have celebrations some time to keep the mind fresh and energetic. The problem is in the rural villages and semi-urban areas tribes have parties or celebrations with alcohol all most every day. Most of them don’t control themselves. Some time they over drink  till they become unconscious. This is dangerous for the family as well as society.  So It’s high time to overcome this problems. Otherwise the future is only dark and hollow for the new generation.

In conclusion I would say that there are still lots of problem which is faced by the tribes. As we know every action has its opposite reaction. Therefore If the actions are still terrible in future the situation will be worse for the society. As a matter of fact the tribes will move backward instead of forward. So I believe this all the problems can be solved only through educations. As  Albert Einstein said “ Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think.” Now the tribes must engage themselves with the education to keep the culture alive and increase the intellect through education. Thus the society can be build with hope and prosperity.
